Year 2017 had the worst seasonal wildfires in California - with over 8,750 fires that burnt through over 1 million acres, and killed over 40 people. The Tubbs fire in Napa and Sonoma Counties that lasted from October 8 to 31 alone was the single most destructive fire, killing 22 people, and burnt over 36,000 acres. Now that these wildfires have been controlled, we are asking questions about the polluting effects of these fires on the environment and landscape. Please join us in the following lecture as Professor Kent Pinkerton, Director from UC Davis’ Center for Health and the Environment, shares his expert knowledge with us. This is a free and bilingual (English/Cantonese) lecture. All are welcome.
