The COVID pandemic has overwhelmed us for over three years to the extent that we have ignored other major chronic health problems and diseases that are unique to our community.
Do you know that 1 in 7 Asian Americans in San Francisco, especially immigrants, harbors latent tuberculosis (TB)? It was shocking to learn about its high rate in a recent conversation with Dr. Janice Louie from the Tuberculosis Clinic at the San Francisco Department of Public Health.
What is latent TB? Do you have it? How can you find out? And what should you do to prevent the latent infections from becoming active cases?
Dr. Louie will share important information on TB with us in the upcoming bilingual lecture.
