An estimated 1.2 million people are living with chronic hepatitis B infection In the United States, and most do not know that they have it. Even though Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders make up just 7% of the United States’ population, they make up >50% of the hepatitis B infection burden! Chronic hepatitis B affects Asians and Caucasians quite differently. Asians with chronic hepatitis B have liver cancer rates that are up to 13 times higher than Caucasians!

估計美國約有120萬人患有慢性乙型肝炎-簡稱「乙肝」，而且大多數人並不知道自己患有此病。雖然亞裔和太平洋島民僅占美國人口的7%，但他們卻佔乙肝病人比率 的50% 以上！慢性乙肝對亞裔和白人的影響也並不一樣，有慢性乙肝的亞裔患肝癌的機率比白人高13倍！
